MemberHi, and welcome! We have quite a few fibro folks in the program, and you can share notes with them in the groups area – especially “Successful Beginnings”. Waterobics is considered a great option – are you able to do that?

MemberHey everyone!!
I was wondering is there any thing that i need to do differently after having my gallbladder removed.June 4, 2015 at 2:34 pm #29261Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Lily. Hopefully you are being followed by a healthcare provider familiar with your case 🙂 Without knowing your details, I can say that generally just after your surgery, it is best not to eat anything too high in fat, and gradually add fatty foods back in within the first few months or so post-surgery – and of course, be on the lookout for symptoms. After that, a moderately low carbohydrate and moderate fat regime (like the one we offer here) is recommended – too little fat and too much fat can both cause symptoms. Since gallbladder removal can sometimes cause some insulin resistance, that’s were some carbohydrate control comes in. Fiber intake will help normalize bowel movements- be sure to increase the amount of fiber slowly over several weeks, and drink plenty of water with fiber intake. It has been suggested that adding soluble fiber (as in oatmeal) to the diet will can help avoid stomach problem such as reflux/heartburn. If the latter is an issue, avoid alcohol, caffeinated and carbonated drinks, chocolate, acidic foods and beverages (e.g., citrus, coffee, tea, vinegar-based dressing, onions, garlic, tomato-based foods, spicy foods, and eat smaller meals – again, as we recommend for all our Clubmembers.
