MemberHi I have just joined today and have been through and put in all my food choices which has generated a daily menu for me, on all of the main meals per day there is FISH OIL – what does this mean ? Am I supposed to take a fish oil supplement with each meal ? Also there are many times through out the week when it says for example a muffin or bread but there doesnt seem to be anything to go with it, does this mean just eat the bread on its own, surely that will be like chopping on a bit of cardboard ?
Any help appreciated, I’d like to get started asap but need some clarification.
Many thanksFebruary 3, 2014 at 11:03 pm #17875Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Jolee, and welcome. The fish oil is just a suggestion. The type of omega-3s in fish oil tend to be fairly scarce in the modern diet, so for some people, a supplement may be helpful.
With regard to a muffin or bread, you can generally put about a teaspoon of jam or butter on it, or whatever cheese, etc. is in your meal. You also have the option of swapping out one of the other food items in the meal for a spread – click on the circular arrow icon near the food to be swapped out, and meake a new choice.February 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm #17894Montgom
ParticipantHi Ossie & Jolee – I have often wondered about the bread too but I experimented and came up with a few rather tasty items. If I have a snack or meal that has bread and fruit I will slice or mash the fruit and put it on my bread (even toasted). If there are walnuts on the list I may grind them and mix with fruit. I have also done the same with vegies and sometimes fold the bread like a taco. The variety is endless and you can use whichever fruits and vegies that you like – sometimes even fruits and vegies go good together. Happy experimenting.

MemberThanks, Georgia. Those are great ideas. Remember when banana toast was in style? I agree with you that the right mashed fruit is just as delicious as any jam.
