ParticipantI see a lot of research and thought went into this program. A few years ago I attended a healthy living class, but this information is still WAY TOO COMPLICATED. I just don’t have a ton of time to try to figure this out. I think it would work, but I don’t have time to cook a new recipe for every meal besides all the shopping. Is there any Quick easy start up plan? Because I’m feeling discouraged. I ended up buying plain meat/veggie/ selections for this week. Help.

ParticipantI just started a week ago and about 2 days into it I felt the same way. I made it through the first week, but wasn’t able to follow my menu as closely as I would have liked. I felt fantastic and lost more weight than I expected. I decided to pick some recipes that I could make ahead and then repeat them a couple times throughout the week. I don’t know how else to do it with a full time job, but would love to hear how others have dealt with this issue.

ParticipantHi, me again. I made the first post. Not sure why my profile’s not showing. Guess I have a lot to learn. But I did get to read through more material. I have a better idea of how it works, but definitely can’t start with the menu it gave me because there’s too many new recipes. Maybe by the next time I go to the store, I’ll be more prepared. I like your idea of repeating menus to start. I guess every time you eat a carb (allowed one) you have to have a protein with it? Even with Ezekial bread?

MemberAs long as you understand the principles of the Trim Down Club, you can use the menus from the Menu Planner as a guide and easing your way into the program. Most important principles: avoid processed foods, switch to good oils, and cut back on fats, simple sugars, sodium (“salt”), and artifical sweeteners.
You have the option of not using any of our recipes, and only checking single foods in the Menu Planner – if you are interested in finding recipes from a specific food group, you can always look it up here. The “quick easy start-up plan” is a great idea, and we are working on it.September 9, 2013 at 6:21 pm #14812Jp004

MemberI have been dieting for 4 days and have lost 5 lbs. I usually drink a lot of diet soda but have cut back a lot. Is this OK? or will it hinder my losses? I drink my 64 oz of water and enjoy a diet soda once at day.
