MemberI have just started this diet and I wonder if there is anyone else in the uk doing it. It took me a while to find out what some of the foods are but there are one or two which don’t seem to exist in the uk. It’s a shame the diet is seems geared to American foodstuffs as the blurb I listened to, before I purchased, was in an English, i e. uk voice, so I assumed the diet too would include English recipes. Is there an equivalent English site which would help me with the menu choices? It does seem to be gearing towards vegetarianism. Not much meat just chicken, turkey and a steak I have never heard of. Would love to hear from anyone in the London region.

MemberHi Linda, I also contacted trim down, but thus far they have failed to reply. I think it should be made clear that this is primarily a US diet but should provide substitutions for us, outsiders.

MemberHi Jgau. I am in the UK too, Hastings. Have been on the diet for a week now and found it very frustrating to start with – US weights, what on earth are ‘collard greens’, raw butter (illegal here); and very unsure how much leeway I have with my menu choices to make them edible. Still getting the hang of it, but will persevere and make my own adjustments and substitutions. Good luck.

MemberHi francisJill, it’s great to find someone in the uk doing this. I am trying the 14 day starter but am mixing it about a bit, as you say, it’s not that straightforward. It took me a while to discover that kamut is couscous, why don’t they state the alternative names for us Brits. Still no direct reply from them re: my queries. Regards, jgau

MemberI am living in the US and very excited to get going over here with this program. I feel your pain with the translation of the foods etc having purchased a vegetarian cookbook written by a chef living in England. I can never find the ingredients so I look longingly at the pictures only. This site is very impressive and EXACTLY the type of program I have been looking for. I am hopeful that it will only improve with time. Keep tuned in and don’t lose hope. I’m also a fan at improvising with recipes or just leaving out something if I don’t have it

MemberHi to all that have repied. My problem with swapping items and substituting with possible Aussie equivelents is that i am not a nutritionalist and therefore don’t now if they are in fact equal. That’s why i forked out my hard earned cash on this program in the first place. So someone qualified could help me…..extremely disappointed. This is definately an American program. With the amount of research and adjustment required for me to make this work i may as well just stick to weight watchers.
