MemberThe amounts of carbs, fats, and proteins in the menus differ for each person based on gender, height, and weight. The ratios are basically 1 gram of fat to 1.5-2 grams of protein to 2.5-3 grams of carbohydrates.

MemberBeing from the US, we do not measure things in grams, so I don’t understand what 1 gram of fat measures or 1.5 grams of protein or 2.5 grams of carbs. I copied many of the recipes that looked good to me. I do agree, there are a lot of ingredients that I don’t usually have in my pantry. Being in the US, we are able to find GSW products. My husband and I are trying to eat “gluten free”. I am keeping to the foods listed. Hopefully, this will help.

MemberEven in the US, when talking about nutrition, components of foods are mentioned in grams – check out the Nutrition Facts labels on foods, and eventually, it will become second nature! If you need more tips here, please let us know.

MemberHello, I just want to say that the menu that the system prepared for me is awesome. But I will like to know if I can combine a breakfast from one day with a snack of another day, let’s say his Tuesday and I what to repeat the same breakfast that I had on Monday, but when is snack time I will prefer to choose a snack that are to eat on Wednesday. Can I do that? Another thing I want to share is that I had to drink black coffee, because I had a terrible headache, besides what I just mentioned, I am very happy with my Menu Planner.

MemberI just wanted to say Hello! I am 31 and the older I get the harder it is to keep the weight off. I really hope that this plan works for me. Does anyone have any befores and afters or any ideas on how to loose the weight quickly. I am getting an elliptical tomorrow so I have some way to exercise I really want to loose at least 60 pounds. I have lost a pants size in a month in a half. So what I do is eat every 3 hours and only 5grams of fat a day. But, I want to try this program and see if it helps me loose weight quicker. I like that you got to pick what foods you want to eat and then they make a meal planner for you. I hope that I can loose it. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

MemberHi, BarbaraWolfe, and welcome. I would suggest to start by reading the program overview (in My Downloads above) – there is a lot of information there regarding what to eat. You can eventually move on to the articles, which contain additional related information.
In between, I suggest you try the Menu Planner application (in Apps above) to start building your daily menus. Just choose the foods you want (the healthiest choices are in lighter blue), staring with foods you have at home, and gradually fill your cupboards with healthier versions.June 10, 2013 at 7:11 am #12391Shepv50
MemberAlso would like to add my request to those above for the ratio, as some understanding of why you are suggesting thoses foods at those times would aid adaption. This is way more food than I would normally eat and I am afraid of gaining weight as I normally would not be eying bread at every meal. I get why you are introducing snacks to keep the metabolism topped up – but I expected the meals to be smaller (not larger) to compensate for that.

MemberHi, Shepv50. The general ratio of proteins to carbohdyrates here is about 1.5 protein to 2.0 carbohydrate servings, about 1:3 grams. Overall, the diet is fairly low in carbohydrates, about 40-45% of energy (compared to 50-65%), and most of these are high in fiber, which further lessens their glycemic impact. It is important to note that carbohydrate is required to burn fat – if there are not enough carbohydrates, fat is burned poorly. If used as a method of weight loss, this can be very toxic to the body (which is a large part of why loss is so rapid). Because it is unsustainable, weight lost is regained, sometimes more than before, and the metabolism is slowed down.
If you wish, I would be happy to take a look at some of your details and run some calculations, and make recommendations. I just need gender, age, height, weight, amount of physical activity, and dieting history (i.e. if you have been on diets before, what type, and how recently).
Thanks.August 21, 2013 at 8:18 pm #14249lauraftonello
MemberHow do I adjust this diet for my husband, who wants to lose weight with me. I’m 5’3″ and he is 6’3″. I will follow it but I don’t want him to starve.
