I’m brand new to this, so I’m not really sure this is where I post questions but….. I’m eating when I’m not hungry just because it’s time for my snack. Is that really going to help me lose weight, or should I just skip the snack if I’m not hungry.

Hi, Jennifer, and welcome. This is the place to post!
It is great that you’re in tune with your hunger signals, and we wouldn’t want you to push yourself beyond it. However, be cautious that you don’t skip too much, so that you’re extra hungry and vulnerable to overeating later in the day or at night.

One option is to drop the current weight in your profile by 1 lb (to 146 lbs), so that you get a little less food overall.

If you still see a consistent pattern of not being hungry at a certain time of day, let me know here, and I would be happy to work with you on arranging your menu to best suit you.

Thank you, I actually did lose weight!! I lost 4 lb the first week (with eating while not hungry!) and I’ve lost 2 more since then, this is great!

    Me too

I have just joined, most of the time I am not actually hungry, I have got into a very bad habit of not eating .. I get up about 0600 and can quite happily survive on 2 cups of coffee’ until 1400 – 1500 hrs and end up eating really late at at night V bad I know .. and I have no excuse as I work from home LOL

so the idea of joining was to to get advise what to eat and when

What caught my eye was fact about Fat Burning Mode etc. which I knew about as did I about Concentrated Fruit Juices and how sugars change when processed etc. but never really bothered to understand it fully, so now with a bit more education. My intention is to eat regularly and the correct foods at the correct times. As now I understand my body must be in contestant state Non Fat Burning, if what is written on this site is correct.

My first question is about the exchanges, I cannot find anywhere on this site an explanation of them and who allocates them and calibrates the the receipts so to speak

I do not over eat and do not eat processed at all perhaps chuck a few tinned pulses in a stew but that is about it, I eat really healthy fresh foods do not cook in oils nor eat fried foods .. but I seem to be putting on weight this clearly due my body being Fat Storing Mode ..

Can someone explain to me the exchange thingy

    Ta Keith

Hi, Keith. I’m glad to read that you’re not hungry, and that you’re aware of trouble spots.
Regarding your question about exchanges – these are units of major nutrients that you can use as building blocks for your menus, and swap between them to your taste. You can see those allotted to you for each meal and day by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your finished menu. The full list of exchanges is here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.

Hi Thanks for the link explains a lot but now I need to know what I should be aiming for in terms of exchanges etc..is there an article that fully explains the strategy reasoning behind it ?

also there is no “Exchange mode” tab on the menu on the version of the site I am looking at

Do you have an email for tech support I struggle with this site and have a few recommendations to make re it’s lay out ..

Thanks in anticipation Keith do you have a direct email ?
