    In reviewing the meal plan requirements, each of the nutritional categories is assigned a value. For example, my Breakfast meal plan has the following values: Carbs = 2; Pros = 2; Fats = 0, Fruits = 1; Sweets = 0; Veges = 0. Can you please tell me what these values represent? At first, I was thinking the values were grams, but that seems way off the mark as they would be too low. Is it just some sort of in-house index developed by TrimDownClub for the purpose of menu creation, or does it translate to something else? I’d like to crack the code so that I can read food or beverage labels and understand how such foods or beverages might fit into my TrimDownClub target values.

    Hi, wcatlett. The values are exchanges, not grams. They are based on those published by the American Diabetes Association, and can be translated as follows:
    Carb = approximately 15 grams of carbohydrate + up to 3 grams of protein
    Protein = approximately 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
    Fat = approximately 5 grams of fat
    Fruit = approximately 15 grams of carbohydrate
    Vegetable = approximately 5 grams of carbohydrate + 2 gams of protein
    Sweet = 15- grams of carbohydrate + 5 grams of fat
    Free = up to 5 grams of carbohydrate or up to 3 grams of protein or up to 2 grams of fat.
