melanieh39MemberI have Chron’s Disease, and therefore, I cannot eat nuts…is there a substitute?
I also can’t stand the smell of any kind of milk. can I substitute milk for something else?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, melanieh39. There are other sources of protein and good fats that you can eat, depending on what you tolerate – from legumes, mushrooms, dairy (try to get good probiotics), eggs (though please try to get only omega-3 or pastured eggs).
Are you allergic to nuts, or cannot have small particles? If you are allergic, you can eat seeds. If you cannot have small particles, try nut butters.May 2, 2014 at 4:31 pm #19814
melanieh39MemberI cannot have small particles. I will use nut butters instead, but the milk gets me too..I want to vomit when I smell it. Can I substitute yogurt when the plan calls for milk? and would it be the same amounts?

chatter8ugMemberI can’t drink milk either. I use almond milk or almond coconut milk. Use the substitution button to switch your milk for one of the other items listed.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, melanieh39. Chatter8ug has a great idea there (thanks!) – just make sure the milk is fortified with calcium (and D, if you can find it). Yogurt can be substituted for milk (3/4 cup yogurt = 1 cup milk), but watch out for added sugars.
