MemberMy husband and I hike two days a week after work. We often get home after 7:30. I need easy to prepare meals to take with me that we can eat beforehand so we are tempted to eat out or pick up snacks on the way home or eat too close to bedtime. I could possibly heat them before I leave work, but meals served cold would be best. Any ideas? No shakes. Probably should include meat.

MemberAre not tempted. Haha! We don’t want to be tempted to eat out.

MemberMeals to go for dinner ideas? No shakes. Hubby doesn’t count salads dinner. Sandwiches are OK, other ideas would be better.

MemberHi, LiftLadyJan. The best option may be to make dinner ahead, then freeze in individual containers for reheating. Would that work? Other options may be hearty soups that can be taken on-the-go in a thermos.

MemberThanks, Sharon! If he were ready as soon as I picked him up the meals would stay warm. I have access to a fridge and microwave at work. I’ve done pasta salads before and if they have meat in them he is ok. I just want to get away from mayo laced ones. I’m from the South and all my recipes like that are mayo laced!
