catherine2019MemberI love chocolate almonds and oatmeal overnight for breakfast, is it a good sub for pancake or something else? or is it a big no no ??

It depends on the amounts, form of the oatmeal (steel-cut or rolled are preferred to “instant” or “quick”) and chocolate (pure cocoa is better than regular chocolate), and timing. If it is in the morning after sleep, it can be a great substitute to pancakes or other starch-fat combinations.

lgrubbMemberI have a recipe for overnight oatmeal that uses 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup milk, raisins/apples, vanilla extract, chia seeds, and 1T of brown sugar. Is this recipe okay? I’m thinking brown sugar is a no-no. What substitutions would work – stevia??

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, lgrubb. Stevia is a great alternative to sugar. If you’re missing the flavor that brown sugar provides, you can substitute with maple syrup or coconut sugar.
