This is my first week & I am a bit overwhelmed! Can anyone tell me if the recipe says 1 1/2 cups oatmeal plus milk, is that raw or cooked oatmeal, seems like a huge portion & milk but no amount given. I only drink rice milk how much am I allowed a day? Also can I exchange rice cakes for oatcakes? Thank you!!
H, Kerryann. The 1-1/2 cups is total cooked + milk, and you can decide on the proportion of oatmeal vs. milk. As far as rice milk goes, the amount depends on the rest of what you are eating – it is just another carbohydrate food, really. The main recommendation there is that if you don’t use dairy that you get fortified rice milk, with added calcium and vitamin D.
Yes, you can exchange ricecakes for oatcakes.
