    s peanutbutter allowed

    #39741

Hi, longjulie Absolutely! It is represented in the Menu Planner food lists as “Nut Butter.” Our recommendation is to get the natural type (or make your own from whole peanuts), and avoid any with added sugar and/or hydrogenated fats.

me and my husband will be doing this however, my husband has just been diagnosed with celiac disease – so no onions, no garlic, anything that cant be easy digested – any thoughts on my menu plan? as I can see lots of recipes with these ( I love), but hubby can’t have these as it sets his stomach off.

Hi, Julie. Almond butter is excellent, but the key factor is not the nut itself, but rather the additives. Jiff and other mass-produced brands tend to have undesirable additives. It would be better to get something from a health food store or the health food section of a regular store.

Hi, jaismum. The most important thing for celiac disease is to avoid all sources of gluten. If you are going to use your account for him as well (recommended), then the first thing I would suggest is to change the dietary needs in your profile to “gluten-free” (in the lower right area). Next, use the fully personal version of the Menu Planner so you can select the foods that work for you and your husband, and avoid the ones that don’t – you can access this by clicking on “My Food Choices” in the toolbar above your current menu. Finally, note that you don’t need to use garlic or onions in anything – there are plenty of other vegetables and seasonings that you can use instead, depending on tolerance and taste – all have similar nutritional values.

How does my body know if I have enough macros for the day

    #44732

Hi, DeterminedP. Your body automatically senses the nutrients and whether they fit the need. You will know according to energy-level, true hunger and satiety signals, and of course, how your clothes are fitting (even more than the number on the scale).

Is there a set amount on the number of proteins and carbs to consume in a day?

    #44761

Hi, GrannyHen. Yes, and this changes as your weight changes. At your current weight, the keto plan provides you with about 100 grams of protein and about 40 grams of carbohydrates.
