I have stopped smoking and although my diet hasn’t changed, I have put on weight. What foods boost metabolism – does anyone know? Jenny
Hi Jenny,
The best way to boost your metabolism is by exercise, of course you can’t eat that, and if we could we’d all be skinny! HA
Spices can boost your metabolism, the hotter the spice the more it will fire you up. Some that are good are; chiles, ginger, cinnamon, garlic and cloves. You can also add natural hot sauce or picante (watch for added sugar) to your food.
Simple as it may sound, foods that take more effort to eat such as whole fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats can help speed up your metabolism also. That is what this whole plan is geared toward. Having 3 meals and 3 snacks will keep your body burning and I have not yet heard anyone on here complain that they are ever hungry 🙂
Hope this helps,
Doryss
