MemberHi
I have suffered from heartburn a lot for some time. I’ve tried elimination diets but nothing seems to be consistent – so its difficult to find out the triggers. Do you have any advice for me? I’m only just starting to try your menu planner etc so its early days for me so it would be helpful to get your advice before I start.
Many thanks

MemberHi, Olwen. Have you been evaluated by a physician? If it is that relentless, it may be worth someone having a look – including at any medications you’re taking, as you may be experiencing a side effect. In the meantime, just a review of common lifestyle triggers to make sure you’ve covered everything:
Stress
Smoking
Alcohol
Caffeine
Coffee (even if decaffeinated)
Tea (even if decaffeinated)
Carbonated beverages (i.e., soda, especially cola)
Tomatoes
Citrus fruits and their juices
Pickled foods
Fried foods
Fatty foods
Chocolate
Raw onions
Black and white pepper, garlic, chili-related spices (spicy food in general)
PeppermintBeyond that, you may wish to be aware of your position when eating, and take care not to lie down for at least an hour after a meal.
