On my menu several items just say “2 servings”, “4 servings”. I understand cups and measures but what is a “serving”? Is it a cup, 2 cups, what? Thank you so much.
I don’t understand what 3 or 4 servings of vegetables equals. What is a serving in cups or ounces.
Hi, pbrost80 and gallaghermmary. A serving of vegetables is equal to one cup raw or 1/2 cup cooked. Note that this applies to non-starchy vegetables (not potatoes, yams, corn, peas, parsnips, etc.). A serving of “free” vegetables such as lettuce can be two cups or more.
