MemberHi, day 1 completed, but can someone clarify just what 6 meals a day means? I used to have breakfast at 6.45am, lunch at 12.45, dinner at 5.30 and go to bed at 10pm. Is there a time in the day after which I should not eat or do I take my waking hours (15) and eat every 2.5 hours. Sorry if I’m being a little dense but I’ve tried Atkins, Cambridge, juice diets etc and have regained my weight after 5 years, so I am very keen to learn new tricks and succeed.

MemberNicole, You have three meals and three pretty big snacks. this is based on the American Diabetic Association idet paln recommendations to keep your blood sugar levels even. It is fantastic!! I’ve tried them all!!! This is by far the healthiest!

MemberWhat times of day are recommended for the meals and snacks if for instance I eat breakfast at 8? (I get up early but I am not hungry.)

MemberEvery 2-3 hours reminds me of a newborn nursing schedule. Guess I’ll play the baby. Funny when I nursed I was extremely conscious of drinking whenever I fed the baby. I also ate better.

MemberWow! Thanks ladies. This really helps. I watched the recent Horizon programme, sugar vs fat with the identical twins which reiterates all of the learn ngs here. The most important factor for me, apart from having regular food intake, is the need to increase my protein intake

MemberEver since I started the six smaller meals throughout the day instead of the ‘traditional’ three larger meals a day, I’ve found myself more even keel through the day and I don’t get as fatigued as I previously did. I suppose the fatigue was due to spikes and drops in blood sugar levels. Even with eating more often, I think I’m eating less over all than normal. But I do have to remind myself to eat at least something every 2.5 to 3 hours. Not completely used to it yet.

MemberI’m with Zach – I’m having trouble fitting in all the meals. I’m at home a lot so I think I will put the oven timer on and see if that helps. I’m also going to look for a watch with an alarm.

MemberWhat kind of snacks are you suggesting? I really need help all over the place. I have reduced my carbs this week and started to walk. But I don’t think it is enough.

MemberHi I’m new to this site . Just signed up. I am seeing that many of you are expressing trouble eating 6 small meals a day. Are you using the suggested snacks from the menu app? I have downloaded the menus and suggested meals for a 7 day period. Off to the store to get all the yummy ingredients. Please let me know if you are following this and if it has worked for you? Thanks

MemberI haven’t started yet, but I notice there is an awful lot of food to eat, even the snacks. Am I really suppose to eat everything suggested in my meal plan every day. Not that I mind 🙂 Just want to be sure I’m still going to loose weight.

MemberHi, JMachadori. The Menu Planner application puts together snacks for you based on foods you like and nutrition principles that can help gear your metabolism toward weight loss. Basically, they are a carbohydrate and protein source, often with a fruit in the equation.

MemberHi, Julia. Yes, the intention is for you to eat all the food listed. The goal is to prevent hunger and get your metabolism up, as well as meat your nutritional needs.
