I am 67 years old, and cannot undergo any skin removal surgery at my age. If I were to lose 100 lbs., what happens to all that stretched out skin, like I’ve been told would happen with such a large weight loss?

Hi, misslj. Slow weight loss is a major key to limiting the hanging skin problem, and is one of the advantages of the Trim Down Club. Adequate hydration, balanced nutrition, and good protein intake are also key, and are a part of the program as well. Beyond that, sound skin care is important: daily exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and increase skin circulation; hot baths with sea salts, minerals, and oils to improve skin tone; skin tightening creams with herbal formulas and ingredients such as aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants can help to hydrate and increase collagen and elastin formation in skin; avoidance of harsh detergents; limiting sun exposure; and special chlorine-removal soaps and shampoos if you like to swim or work out in pools.
There are also some skin toning exercises that are possible. I will forward your query to our fitness expert, Meagan.

    misslj,
You can also add in weight bearing exercise to increase muscle tone to help tighten the areas that loosen.

If you are concerned about the arms I would start with a light dumbbell (2-5lbs) and do tricep kick backs, bicep curls, shoulder presses 2 times a week. Start with 3 sets of 15 reps.

For legs the best are body weight exercises such as squats and lunges. I would do these 2 times a week 3 sets of 15 reps.

With any exercises remember to squeeze into the muscles that you are working for added resistance and quicker results!
