I have recently purchased a nutri-bullet and have regular healthy smoothies at lunch time consisting of kale or spinach, carrots or/and celery/ broccoli blueberries or strawberries, blackberries and top it off with goji berries flax or chia and or almonds/cashews. Are these allowed and am I missing anything. I would much rather drink my nutrition.
Hi, Bodakok. Those look excellent as snacks or courses of a larger meal. Each cup (8 fluid ounces or 240 ml) would generally count as a fruit + vegetable, though you can get a more accurate value by counting what goes into your smoothie; each 2 Tablespoons of nuts or 1-1/2 Tablespoons of flax seed (1/2 ounce or 15 grams) is equal to 1/2 protein + 1 fat exchange.
Are you looking to replace all of your meals with smoothies?
