MemberThis is my first day. The menu tells me to use 1 Tbsp. soy/tamari Sauce, regular. I rarely use either of these and the substitutes I rarely use either. Does it matter if I don’t use it at all or do I have to substitute it?
Also, My dinner menu is allowing wine. When I go to substitute it gives me other alcohol choices. As I rarely drink and would like to save this for a weekend or special occasion, what regular beverage can I substitute it with?
Thanks!

MemberI originally asked this question on March 4th. Can anyone help me and let me know how long you usually have to wait for answers? Thanks!

MemberHi, Sharon. Wine in the menu planner is categories as a fat + carb (because that’s how the body processes it) – which is equal to a slice of toast with a teaspoon of butter, for example. If you get the wine at night, you can substitute with salad+dressing or two small cookies.
Regarding the soy sauce, no you don’t have to use it – it’s just a seasoning.March 11, 2014 at 12:01 am #18524mgee65
MemberCan anyone tell me is splenda an alternative natural sweetener?

MemberSplenda is an artificial sweetener. As far as I am aware it’s better to use real sugar, like natural cane sugar and you probably would end up using less. Plus Splenda does have kinda a weird taste to it. At least that’s the experience I’ve had. Hope this helps!

MemberHi, Binky82 – great advice!
McGee, other possibilities include monk fruit (no calories) or xylitol (no aftertaste, but some calories). If you can find it, inulin-based sweeteners have no aftertaste or calories and are very healthy – you just need to use twice the amount of regular sugar. - AuthorPosts
