MemberI have a number of favourite family recipes that call for sugar. Will Stevia powder work in these recipes?
How much Stwvia powder equals 1/2 cup sugar?August 27, 2013 at 4:07 pm #14435Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Parfitt. There is a range of opinions on this. To substitute for 1/2 cup sugar can take anywhere from 1/2 teaspoon to 3 teaspoons of Stevia powder. I suggest using the try-and-taste method.

Tell me what’s wrong with using Stevia!!!!August 30, 2013 at 1:02 pm #14516gingerhoney
MemberI personally dont like the taste of stevia. Can I replace it with coconut nectar? If so, how do I substitute the amount needed?

MemberHi, GingerHoney. Coconut nectar is a great alternative to refined sugar and agave nectar in terms of how the body metabolizes it, but do keep in mind that it is still high-carb. It is used like simple syrup (concentrated sugar water), in amounts similar to regular sugar. When you use it, do so in moderation – it can all add up.
