MemberHi. I have spent hours trying to find my ideal menu. I have added all my food choices but the menu throws up some really weird combinations that do not suit me, even when I try to change foods for something else. Am I allowed to count the amount of carbs, proteins, fats etc for each day and then go to the food exchange and pick things that suit me and my way of life and make up my own menu of meals and snacks? Also, I like to have semi skimmed cows milk with my cereal/tea/coffee how do I encorporate this please? Thank you.

MemberHi, Annjanette. It looks like you would be best served by the subapplication of the Menu Planner. You can access it by clicking on the circular arrow icon to the write of each meal header. There, you will be guided by the exchanges allotted to you from each food group, and you can select foods to match those as you wish – so that you are sure to create a menu that absolutely suits you. You can also incorporate skim milk for your coffee there (if it is less than 1/3 cup or 80 ml for the whole day, you don’t need to count it). By the way, it is best to select skim milk that is bluish and looks watery, meaning it does not have added “solids” that can actually be quite unhealthy.
