Tagged: Fruit servings
I’m mew and just printed out my week of menus. I went to the store today however I did not buy everything inthe grocery store! If I don’t have a particular fruit can I substitute another fruit that I have or will that screw things up? thanks.
Hi, Deborah, and welcome. Yes, of course, you can absolutely substitute another fruit. Just keep in mind that a couple of fruits are a little higher in sugar, and so the portion size is a bit smaller: 1/2 banana is equal to a fruit serving, whereas others are a whole fruit (other than melons, of course), and 3/4 cup pineapple is a serving (compared to 1 cup for other similar fruits).
