I like very few things so my menus are understandably pretty repetitive. So I have 3 questions.
1.Can 1 egg be substituted 2 times a week for breakfast ham (if there is no other egg that day)?
2.Can chicken be substituted for pork loin chop or pork tenderloin 2 times a week?
3.Not familiar with “power aids”. Is crystal Light(no calorie)powder the same? Thanks

I am having a heck of a time trying to set up a menu. I have picked out all kinds of stuff (many I probably will never eat) and still it claims I don’t have enough stuff picked out! I have the taste of a six year old and many things I won’t eat. Never fish and little else than red meat. Don’t care for chicken, pork etc. Never drink juice or milk no deli stuff. Only my homemade soup. Can’t get a menu after about four hours picking. HELP!

Hi, Sharlyn. Regarding 1 and 2, you absolutely can make swaps within the same major food groups. You may also find it more suitable to use the personal version of the Menu Planner (the right-most option here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner) so that you can select the specific foods to go into your menus.
Power aids are Gatorade-type beverages, not Crystal Light. Note that we don’t recommend anything with artificial sweeteners.

Hi, MissDyna. In which categories are there not enough?
Note that you don’t need to worry about anything other than red meat for the protein category – just choose several different cuts to get through the system, and use whatever you wish.

the three gray boxes on the left. No matter how many I checked, I was told to pick more. I counted and I had what I said I needed in each meal but still was told that it wasn’t enough.
Later I went to the standard quick menu and spent forever to subbing. More work than its worth so far and still don’t have what I need. Then I can’t do print outs so would have to write everything out. Then shop and finally cook. Don’t think this program is for me. Thanks for your help though.

What can we use in place of brown sugar?

    #38271

Hi, BJCapko. Instead of brown sugar, you can use raw whole sugar, coconut sugar, or maple sugar. If you can adjust the moisture level of the recipe, you can use maple syrup.

I came across lists of fruit and vegetable serving sizes (including ‘free’ and measured portions of relevant fruit and vegetables). Could you please post the links to where this information can be found? I did contact IT support, but they sent me the wrong information.

How much corn amounts to one carbohydrate?

    #38338

Hi, raisay. 1/2 cup cooked kernels or a 5-inch (12.5 cm) cob.

Are all the breakfast meals equal in terms of protein, carbs, fat. Is it ok to choose a breakfast from Monday, a lunch from Tuesday, a snack from Thursday, etc.

    Hi, Linda. Absolutely!
