Jan 17th 197, Jan 28th, 192 and I’m especially enjoying brown rice and actually tasting foods as never before. Sinus congestion reduced, not hungry between meals and eating lots. I’m a former lover of desserts and a daily cocktail. I don’t miss either because I needed to change my lifestyle. I’m converting the things I used to love into lower calorie alternatives. Best salad dressing I’m using is equal parts yogurt and dijon mustard with agave nectar to taste. Also use it on baked chicken wings in place of barbeque sauce. Toast SWG bread. Place in food processor with garlic and herbs to make tasty crunch for soups and salads! Stores well in fridge.

Hi, I am new just downloaded everything today. For now I plan to watch the 10 foods to avoid. After this week I’ll have my son moved and can get back to a normal schedule and fixing things at work to eat that are healthier.

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. I’ve been on the Newbie forum since Jan 7, but would like to get even more tips about the diet so thought I’d try this one. I live in the US, IOWA.

Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well and eating healthy!

Degada, would mind if I copy & paste your tips onto the Tips & Tricks thread, just to make them easier to find in the future? Or you can rewrite it there if you have the time.

I love the idea of the crunchies for soups and salads! Much better than processed croutons or crackers 🙂

    Have a good evening,
    Doryss

I started this eating plan 10 days ago. I was diagnosed with breast Cancer in August 2009 and had 20 months of treatment. I never really got over the fatigue and was also suffering from some lingering side effects. I have had great difficulty sleeping at night but great difficulty staying awake during the day. I also have suffered acid reflux and severe constipation since my chemo. I am currently on Tamoxifen which has its own side effects. I haven’t stuck rigidly to the menus because I haven’t been able to source all of the ingredients yet. However, from day two I have not had any acid reflux and minimal heartburn so I have cut out the medication for that. I have gone 2 or 3 days without coffee and didn’t even notice. I haven’t had any cravings for chocolate or sweets. I am sleeping all night. I have not had a sleep during the day for the last 5 days. The meds that I take to control my hot flushes (that give me nightmares) I have halved the dose and have no flushes and no nightmares. I have been able to cut out some of my meds for constipation. Don’t know if I have lost any weight because I don’t have scales but that was not my primary purpose in doing this, it was for my energy levels. Only downside is I am cold in bed at night now that I am not having night sweats.

I eat too fast…yup…WAY too fast. Among my aquired skill sets are “dash board dining” , “multi task dining” , as well as balancing a meal & a lap top. Hummmmm…what to do ??? TODAY I will pick up a set of chop sticks. That should take me from 120 mph to an acceptable 60 per. The porage this morning will be a challange , however , changing up the ” big” people cutlery ( wow ! how discriptive is that ) with the little peeps spoons will help. Going to throw in a timer for good measure or better load up my fav CD’s and calculate the time . Wonder how long a meal should take to ingest ???? Is there a standard ? Time to cut out “seconds” for me as well. The half cup plus left over during clean up …too little to store..too good to throw out..RIGHT . Breaking out the measuring cup had better be next. Something I have never used when cooking. Sigh…in the LORD’S strength. All suggestions greatfully accepted . Blessings .

I have to brag today. I lost 4.5 pounds in 3 weeks. I lost 3 inches from my natural waistline and 2.25 inches from the circumference at my belly button within this month.
For those posters who feel discouraged, I know how you feel. My weight fluctuates so much I only use the progress chart once a week. A month (first Sunday of the month) elapsed since I measured and tried on target outfits. I have skirt that fits better than a month ago, and I have a pair of trousers I still am not ready to wear in public (maybe next month.)
Reading the forums helps me find answers to problems and inspiration when I need accountability. The diet journal app helps me stay honest about my efforts. Even if I don’t use TrimDown Clubs Diet Journal app, I make notes on the daily menus I print. Note-taking helps me know which meals and snacks I did not like, I did not want to use again, or which left me feeling unsatisfied before the next time to eat.
Best wishes for all who post.
