Memberwow, so many people and so much grocery shopping. to those who are asking about what SWG bread is and raw this and that…if you have a health food store nearby, the SWG is sprouted whole grain and this type of bread is usually found in the refrigerated section since it doesn’t have any preservatives and will spoil. Since I am only one, I freeze most of my stuff and just thaw as needed. For the first time, I bought raw cheese and have yet to take my first bite. I wonder if it’s different. Healthy is good. Good luck to everyone. Wish there was someone to talk with at this company as I try to navigate my way through the internet program. sigh

Member100% fresh-squeezed orange juice is acceptable – 1/2 cup is equal to an orange in the Menu Planner.
However, whole fresh fruit is always preferable.February 28, 2013 at 12:45 am #9483RDougall
MemberWell, I’m older (59) as noted by several of these ladies and have made extreme efforts to eat healthier according to the suggestions here and can’t seem to lose a thing! And I’m a pretty consistent exerciser as well. Very discouraging! I’m wondering if some of the suggestions take into account little to no hormones as well as how each of us react differently to proteins, carbs, etc. Other ideas?

MemberHi. I am 47 yers old and really want to lose 15 to 20 pounds. I have not seen the scale move in 3 weeks. The first week I lost 5 pounds and was so excited. I am exercising 3-4 times per week with weights. I have given up bread, rice, potatoes and pasts and am feeling discouraged. I do have my 3 glasses of white wine on weekends. can anyone tell me what amount of water should be consumed daily? Does anyone have any advise?

MemberGot you all beat! I’m 83 and want to lose 30 lbs. Have tried counting calories..too time consuming! Diet plans..too strict, so now wil try this. Problem is, where in the world do you find raw milk, cheese, etc. these days?, Will just have to buy Walmart’s skimmed, I guess and hope this doesn’t spoil the plan. Sure wish one could adjust the servings cause hubby is SKINNY, eats ice cream, cookies, etc. so there is just me. Some recpes I could freeze but not too sure about others.

MemberHi, Everyone!!! Aside from doing some good for myself (I will be 45 shortly), I would do a better job at helping others.
Asherwin – try drinking six 8 oz of water and work up from there. Each individual is different and as your activities increase, so will your intake of water. Alcohol – LOVE WINE…! but it will actually slows the metabolism down. Switch to red. A suggestion would be a spritzer, half wine – half mineral water. I say this from humble experience…because this is my #1 weight gainer. If I am upset and feeling crappy – I binge eat. Its something that I talk myself into thinking I have control over something and I don’t. Best word is to say “I choose too..” vs “I have too..” The latter causes resentment and self-sabotage over time. Why am I doing this? Here’s my way – I choose to eat healthier to feel healthier because this is something that I can control. What is the benefit? I will feel healthier, eat healthier (make better choices), I will be exercising and I will decrease – and that’s a bonus! If I get my other half on board, he will feel better too! 🙂 Way to go, Everyone!!! What’s your “why”?

MemberHi, RDougall. If you want to post your stats (gender, height, weight), physical activity level, and a sample day from your menu plan, I would be happy to run some calculations and see if the composition suits your needs.

MemberMy husband has lost 20 lbs and my sister about 10. Unlike me who had only lost 2 lbs after 4 weeks so I have stopped weighing since I am working out and the other two are not. Clothes are fitting looser, so I\’m good with that. I wish there were people to talk to as I cannot seem to find an answer as to atually how much bread stuffing is a slice. Help anyone?
March 3, 2013 at 3:02 pm #9609Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, debburg. Are you talking about the Classic Bread Stuffing recipe on this site? It depends how you cut it – a 1/12 slice of the stuffing is 1/2 cup, and a 1/6 slice is 1 cup.

MemberHey, suzybee! I’m almost 68 and just getting started with this way of eating. I had surgery last April and put on 20 lbs. I’m miserable this heavy so I’ve just got to lose it. Mobility is another problem, I can’t “run” but I am going to see if I can ride my exercise bike. The weekly menu I’ve made sound healthy and good. Today is my first day and I’m ready to get started. I hope that I can find you on this forum once in a while. Good luck!

ParticipantHi everyone, my name is Ann. I joined last year (September) and just want to say that this program worked for me. My goal was to lose 10 lbs. Since I’ve been doing this program, I actually lost more than that: I lost 12 lbs. I’m back in clothing that I used to wear before I was pregnant (six years ago). I had put some of my old clothes in bags to give away and never got around to doing it. Now, I’m finding I have to fish them out because I’ve gone down 2 dress sizes. The program has become just second nature to me now. Over the past 6 months, I’ve figured out what I like to eat and just stick with those things. Yep, occasionally, I do eat out at a restaurant or “fast food” place but I’m picking the grilled chicken or the healthier options. Love this program. Thanks Trim Down Club!
