MemberCpngratulations to you, Kathy and Optimus…way to go!
I took a couple of weeks on maintenance level, and now I am back on weight loss, another 2 lb down in the last 2 weeks, I am happy! I have another 10 to go I think. I’m slowly being able to find other ways of cooking to make it easier…..have lots of portions frozen so that helps. And I’m getting better at looking at what the menu offers and combining it in different ways to cut the labour.

MemberI forgot to mention the fact that I still have another (approx.) 29 lb. to go for my goal weight. But I’m very confident this will happen. I love the TDC plan. Kathy

MemberMy husband joined this site in January 2013 because my husbands doctor
told him to go off of processed foods, enriched flour and potatoes.
I have made meals from the recipes provided. My husband isn’t one to go onto sites so I decided to go on for him. Since going for the healthy and fit in January I am down 38 pounds and my husband is down 14 pounds. He is progesterone which makes it harder for him to loose but he is loosing. He has been able to reduce his medication done to a safe level now with the aid of another drug. His last visit to his doctor was an excellent check up so now the doctor is going to start him off the other drug till he sees where his pain level is. My blood pressure in January was 135 over 90. It now is 111 over 74.May 20, 2013 at 7:09 pm #11827horselover

MemberMy first day starting this healthy eating plan. I have had a health coach 6 yrs ago who taught me many of these healthy habits that are on this plan plus a few more. Did well, but moved away to the north and gained 15 lbs, with a goal now to loose at least 25 lbs as I hadn’t quite acheived my complete goal before I left. Most people I met that moved up north have all said they had gained weight after moving north here. Strange! I was never a dieter and always slim till I hit my late 30’s and it started creaping up on me over the years. Kept most of the healthy habits,I exercise regularly, reduced my stress but will admit have slipped and with my weakness of evening snacking the odd time but get back on right away. My willpower is not very good for salty foods, so I just try not have them in the house, unless there is company. But will treat myself once in awhile on cheat days. I just need to refocus and have some accountability again and I hope this program will help me as I have hit a high in my weight and so frustrated. Does going into menopause make this harder because I’m trying to do most things right but it doesn’t seem to be helping. Dr. say’s blood work is all good. I hope this program helps.

MemberHi, abeuker. Menopause does indeed change how the body processes nutrients. This program is actually geared toward that by being relatively low in carbohydrates, with a focus on high-fiber carbs, and encouraging protein and good fats (omega 3 and omega 9), as well as physical activity. Hopefully you will find this combination works for you.

MemberHello, I signed up with the program about 24days ago. I haven’t lost any weight or being following because of a medical issue I had to attend to. Today I carefully thought about what I want and needed to do to lose weight and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I’m not in a rush because I’ve failed with that plan time and time again. I want to take my time and learn what triggers my addiction to food. Hopefully I will meet someone outside of my family who could offer some advice and encourage me along the way.May 23, 2013 at 6:42 am #11920MaryBishop
Memberhello rrheartsafe!
I too have lost weight (but never enough) before but haven’t been able to keep it off.
The menus are great, using foods I like. The weight is coming off very, very slowly but it is staying off this time.
We get great support too which helps.
I hope your health issue improves and good luck!May 23, 2013 at 3:33 pm #11931butler

MemberI started the program 5 days ago, but have stuck with it perfectly for four days as I had to go shopping to get the right foods. I have lost 4 pounds so far, and I feel like I am eating more food than ever. I am going back to the gym today…finally, after procrastinating because I was not taking the time to take care of myself properly. You know how it is sometimes with women, and most certainly with me, I tend to put everyone, and everything first. I realized sometimes we have to say no to others, and take care of ourselves because I realized that when I am focused and happy about myself; moreover, I have more energy to care for my family. This is a great club. I love the support and the recipes, and I do love to cook, but I do it on the weekends and freeze the food for the week. That seems to help when I come home at night from work, and I don’t want to make a mess. ♥
