MemberI just started a few days ago, I have lost around 2.5 lbs. I have cheated a few times, I’m trying to completely cut out my cheats….. I think this program is about teaching us All how to properly eat and what kinds of foods are best. I’m feeling great, my waist line has gotten much smaller, my clothing is getting looser, I have about 50lbs to go to reach my goal weight, I’m hoping to make that happen by November. Best of luck to you all.

MemberI started at the weekend, having just about decided that all my excess weight is here to stay! I’m pleased to report that I’ve not felt hungry once and have already lost five pounds! I made my first loaf of swg bread yesterday (I live in the UK so it’s not possible to get hold of the ready-made thing) – the bread was delicious and as easy to make as any other -using a bread machine. Going to make tortilla wraps next. The only criticism that I have is that the evening meal is a little sparse. I would prefer to eat less during the morning and have more at night. I know the theory but is there any room for manoeuvre on this?

MemberHi, ARKnowles. Congratulations! More to come, I’m sure.
Of course there is wiggle room. If you send me a sample day from your menu, along with a rough picture of your usual activity throughout the day, I would be happy to look it over.June 26, 2013 at 3:23 pm #12832operagirl
MemberHi I lost 4 lbs! I think it was from decreasing and changing the carbs. I have found Greek Yogourt to be the best for me

MemberWhile I am not locked strictly into the menus yet, I am following the 3 meals and 3 snacks routine, eating things that are recommended as much as possible. Not getting hungry! Down only 1 lb. so far, in 4 days. Today was my 6 month appointment for my diabetes. With mostly vegan eating, I am 7.1 with my A1C, 171 cholesterol, 45 HDL cholesterol, 213 triglycerides, calculated LDL cholesterol 83. My doctor says all looks pretty good except the triglycerides and the weight. Lose 20 lbs by Christmas he says and I can get rid of some of my medications. He tells me to watch anything that ends in -ose, including fructose. So here goes — a goal of 3 1/2 lbs per month will get me there. I’m hoping Trim Down Club will help me accomplish that.

MemberHi, ARKnowles. The forums are where I get my contacts, but if you are interested in private dietitian consultations, the Club offers the Dietitian Online service.

MemberI bought the SWG bread and do not like it’s taste. It smells fishy. I’m thinking that perhaps toasting it would be an improvement. Does anyone share this?

MemberHi, operagirl. Each bread is different and often has different grains, which influence its taste. Does your bread have flaxseed in it? These can sometimes impart a fishy taste.
If not, and you cannot find a brand you like, just go for 100% whole grain.July 1, 2013 at 9:57 am #12955cgittins
Memberhello im in the uk ,I started half heartedly sat but im going to be more focused from today [mon],I found spelt bread in our local tescos but it is very expensive, actually having done my shopping list the weekend the whole diet is expensive so I hope it works, im 56 and finding losing weight harder and harder.

MemberHi, cgittins. This diet can be done with less expensive options – it doesn’t have to be perfect, just better than what you did before. The cost can sometimes be balanced out by buying in bulk from cooperative shops instead of packaged, and substituting meat with pulses once in a while – which adds a lot too the benefit, too. If it is too expensive, it won’t be sustainable, and we all know how that ends up.

MemberHello everyone! I joined in early Feb (and my husband did too since I do the cooking lol!). By April, I passed my goal weight of 135 lbs by reaching 135 lbs and started the maintenance portion of the diet. I’m 5’7″. My husband, who had farther to go than I did, lost 45 lbs during the same amount of time. We were never hungry on the calorie loss diet and never felt deprived. In fact, we actually felt FULL for a change! I think our taste buds also came alive eating all the wonderful food in the various recipes. Sprouted grains? Who knew lol! Spelt? WOW! Quinoa? Now a much-loved staple as are lentils, barley and REAL oats.
Anyway, we started the maintenance portion of the diet, and I’ll admit, even after the initial success, I had my doubts. I’ve never had much trouble losing weight (when I make up my mind to finally DO it :-P). Keeping it off has always been the problem. I just checked in for the first time since April – 130 lbs :D. No problem keeping it off with the maintenance portion of the diet. TDC inspired me to hunt for healthy options and exploration. I now actually make my own yogurt, sour cream and buttermilk. That in turn inspired me to get some kefir grains and start playing around with milk and water kefir – outstanding. Which lead to kombucha. My first batch is almost ready and I can’t weight (pun intended lol!)
Thank you so much, Trim Down Club. I finally after all these years know how to eat properly. I and my husband feel great, look great and are really grateful for the folks at TDC as well as all the people on forums talking about their journeys to improved health. Bon healthy and delicious Appetite!
