MemberHi, SueHurst, and welcome. Don’t worry too much about the special ingredients. Note that many of our recipes just recommend healthy versions of basic ingredients, and among them are easy ones that indicate simplicity in the title (such as “Simple,” “Basic,” “Homemade” – so you can put those words in the search box and find what you need), as well as recipes posted by other Clubmembers who also favor simplicity and the familiar – you can find these in the “Delights from Members” section of the Recipe page.

MemberI have changed my eating with this program for a little over two months and have lost 22 lbs and many inches. I feel so much better but just have to get more active and exercise more. I have been experimenting with breakfast smoothies made from half baby spinach, strawberries, blueberries and chia seeds with banana or one other fruit of either mango or cantaloupe and it is so filling and gives me lots of energy. I just add ice cold water to mix it all up. Hopefully this is enough to eat for breakfast. I am hoping to lose 10 more pounds to meet my goal but will continue this way of eating. My family isn’t interested in the diet but I will go on with it on my own.

MemberToday is the one year anniversary of when I started the Trim Down Club way of eating. In that time I’ve lost 90lbs but even more importantly my life has changed dramatically. I have a life that I want to live, I feel healthy and happy and my attitude towards myself has changed. I like and respect myself instead of feeling a failure as I used to.
Although at times because of health issues it has not been easy. I have a lot of allergies and working out a menu that would fit in with the foods I can eat was not as straight forward as it could have been but with the menu planner, I did come up with a perfect diet for me. When I did have problems with making changes as I lost weight, Ossie was on hand to help. Thank you Ossie for that 😛
I joined because I was increasingly worried about my mobility which was getting less and less. Some of that was caused by the gradual weight gain over the years, some by the pain that weight gain caused in my joints but the end result was that fear of doing anything to increase the pain was making me less and less active.
When I joined the plan was to lose weight so that I could become more mobile and start to do the things I enjoyed doing again. Things like gardening and country walks. I soon realised that years of relative inactivity had weakened my muscles to almost non-existence and that if I wanted to be able to do the things I wanted I needed to exercise so that I had the strength for the gardening and walks. A year on I am still working on building muscle strength but from having a horror of exercise for it’s own sake I find I enjoy it and feel great afterwards.
I am 71% of the way to my target weight, my BMI has dropped by 17 points, I am nearly at the point where I will be able to take the obese label off myself 😛

MemberCongratulations Anna! That is wonderful!!! I have had much the same sort of journey, and now, at my target weight, I still need to strengthen my muscles, so I know where you are at. This program changed my life for good! I am a year and 2/3 into it and now this way of eating is second nature.
Thanks to Ossie too, and the whole Trim Down crew!

MemberI personally think the menu is why so many join, then leave! We have to get passed the menu and remember the label reading, and the food exchange! I would have 10 olives with something strange, I got over the weird combo’s. It’s really worth the time it takes to get this concept!!!!

MemberI just finished my first week using the Menu Planner and I lost 4 pounds. For the past 4 months I have been working out in the gym twice a week. Walking up to 5 miles twice a day and eating less than 1800 calories a day. During these 4 months I only lost 6 lbs. I admit that I feel stronger and have put on muscle, but on the calorie diet I was hungry all the time. With this program I am confident that I will be able to reach my ultimate weight goal. I will continue the daily exercise. I will also recommend the Trim Down Club to anyone wanting to lose weight the right way.

MemberHi all, I have also reached my target weight, I started on this journey nearly two years ago. I was at a point in my life where I was 55 years old, gaining weight year on year and feeling the health effects.
I made a decision that I had to reverse this trend before it got too late.
I came across this site and it gave me a great incentive plus recipes to get me started. With the help of a better diet and a workout plan (p90X)
I soon saw the pounds come tumbling off, It wasn’t always straight sailing and injury and other personal problems made it a challenging path, however in about 1 year I had lost nearly two stone. I was stuck at a weight of between 10st 11pounds and 11st 4 pounds for many months. I just couldn’t shift the last half stone.
I then was introduced to a video that changed my life further and helped me quickly move the last half stone. The video was about the effect of meat and dairy on heart disease and diabetes.
At that time I was eating far more meat and eggs in order to reduce my carbs intake and thus I was rather concerned about the link between these and heart disease.
I Changed my diet to one of mainly vegetables (i’m not vegan) and started drinking Vegetable and Fruit juices (made by me with a juicer) and bang it made all the difference, my weight quickly went below 11st and within a month I was at my target of 10st 7lbs.
I still eat a mainly vegetarian diet and drink the juices but occasionally have meat fish and eggs again. I’m not completely vegan, however I feel so much better I have more energy, and generally feel much healthier and the problems I had with my digestion have all gone away. I don’t feel those bloated sensations any more and my hair and nails are much improved. So my message is this. Thanks to this site they showed me the way, for which I am extremely greatful. I would just like to recommend to all, that if you get stuck and are having problems try changing your diet up a bit, and I’d certainly recommend the juice diet.
Good Luck to you all.
Phil.

MemberHello, all. Am approaching my second anniversary and have lost 29 lbs and have kept it off! A challenge, with a low-functioning thyroid and metabolism problems, but the TDC has taught me how and what to eat for me! I am more active than I’ve ever been and am enjoying being healthy and feeling more comfortable with my own body. I continue policing what goes into my mouth, maintaining a good exercise routine, drinking lots of water and staying away from those things that are not healthy for me! No need to try anything else! TDC’s plan is foolproof! If you have difficulties (after you truly work with the plan), address them with Ossie. She is the best at being our personal dietician! She will help you get over those slumps and bumps! I also found that the group Successful Beginnings was great because it gave the support and relationships that I needed to keep on for the long haul!
