MemberWhen there is tea listed in the menu (herbal, green, black etc.) is there a specific reason for drinking tea or is it just to give us something other than water? Also, if black tea is listed in the last snack of the day can it be switched out for a different kind of tea? I think black tea has a lot of sugar.
thank you,

MemberHi Doryssb,
I didn’t think teas had any sugar content in themselves but that it was just the sweetners we put in, BUT I checked the Nutritional info on my tea boxes that list them and the sugar content as 0 for most of them, EXCEPT for one green tea that gives the sugar content as 3 grams which surprised me. (That isn’t very much though!) Tetley Green Tea with Pomegranate (which I love) is 0 gr. sugar and so is their black tea.January 15, 2013 at 7:45 pm #6249marlynclark
MemberBy the way, I checked the packages again and the 3gr. of sugar was for 100gr. = almost 14/lb = 4 oz. of tea or the whole box. That’s a lot of tea for such a small amount of sugar, so any tea has minimal sugar in itself.
