I am wondering what sort of food would be appropriate for me to substitute for a couple of days as I am having mouth surgery and will be only able to eat soft foods (ie: jelly custard, pureed apples and sorts
Hi, Kymbo, and best of luck with your surgery.
The best option is to just take what you would normally eat at main meals, and puree it with the appropriate liquid (and a few modifications as needed, of course). Taking the Monday from your current menu as an example, you could double the amount of oatmeal at breakfast, have milk with it instead of the cashews, and the banana is easily pureed; at your morning snack, you can have applesauce and yogurt; at lunch, mashed sweet potato and a cream of chicken (or fish, if you want) soup and a pureed vegetable; afternoon snack could be a cream of vegetable soup with a dairy base; dinner could be mashed potatoes (with a cooked vegetable in with it or separate) and ground pork or beef moistened with a broth; and evening snack could be pudding or a smoothie.
