MemberHi…. New here. I’m a creature of habit. Is there a reason why I could not keep the same daily menu all week?

MemberHi, crozycke, and welcome. If your menu has a high health score, it is absolutely fine to keep using it each week. The variety is already worked in.

MemberHi, ACornuelle, and welcome. There are a couple of options for portable snacks. The first is snack-type foods, such as nuts, seeds, crackers and cheese slices, cut fruits and vegetables, etc. Another option is to drink your snacks – you can make shakes and hearty soups, put them in a thermos and take them with you wherever you go. Recipes are here: shakes – http://www.trimdownclub.com/?s=shake&post_type=recipe; and soups – http://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe_type/soups/.

MemberGood suggestions. Would the fruit shake be used as the entire snack or just substitute for the fruit? Also, if I don’t have certain foods, can I substitute a snack from a different day? If I don’t eat something for breakfast, can I eat it later in the day?

MemberHi, ACornuelle. You can definitely swap snacks back and forth across days and times of day. Regarding the shakes: it is ideal if you use the shakes with a source of protein (dairy/soy/hemp/goat milk or ground up seeds), and then you don’t have to add anything to make it a full snack.

MemberHi, Lois1939. I’m hoping that your message indicates that you are not hungry on this program. I think it is great to listen to your hunger signals, and it is recommended that you don’t overdo, especially if you are not awake for the typical 16 hours per day.
However, it is important to be sure that you don’t consider this to be a lot of food just in comparison to typical weight loss diets, which tend to be quite restrictive. Restricting intake can lead to rebound weight gain, whereas eating according to your nutritional needs can keep your metabolism up and ensure you can follow the plan long-term (and keep off the lost weight).
I would be happy to help in calculating how you could cut back to your comfort while still maintaining the metabolic advantages. I just need a little information – your height and weight (I’m assuming the 1939 indicates your age), and a sample day from your menu. It would also be good if you could briefly describe your physical activity level.August 22, 2013 at 8:59 pm #14285melindab123
MemberCan you refigure mine as well? I just posted concern about the amount of food under new user. I get no exersise. I’m at a computer all day. I quit smoking a year ago and my metabolism has shot down I’m sure. Plus, I over eat and snack since I quit smoking. I’ve only been following the program for 4 days now. I’ve not weighed but I don’t feel so bloated. However, my concern is unability to exercise for a few more weekks due to arm surgery so I worry I’m eating too much. Tahnk you.

MemberHi, Melinda. As I mentioned in response to your other recent post, the diet is designed to support getting your metabolism up. If you would like recommendations for the period in which you are more sedentary, I just need your height, weight, and a sample day from your menu, and I will make recommendations.
Because you have diabetes, I would suggest that you consult with your healthcare provider regarding what exercises you can do – even if they are very simple and light, at least you will keep some muscles moving.August 23, 2013 at 8:17 pm #14315kydano

MemberDo I just post it all here? Also, do you need the full days diet of what to eat or just the total days exchanges.

MemberHi, kydano. A good health score is 80 and up.Hi, Melinda. The intention is for you to eat all the food on the menu.
As for sugarless gum, gum sweetened with natural sugar alcohols such as xylitol and erythritol are fine.August 25, 2013 at 2:05 pm #14372kydano
MemberIs there a particular item on the food list that you can suggest off-hand that will increase the health score?
August 25, 2013 at 2:48 pm #14375Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, kydano. Any of the foods in the lightest blue (healthiest) will help raise your health score.
