MemberHi, vrlrjm96, and welcome! The snacks in this program were designed with energy in mind – plenty of protein with fruit. Nuts and seeds, as well as legume products can make great options

MemberHi,
I was looking through the recipe heading in the snacks section and when reading the recipe for friut and nut cereal bars on Page 6, I was doubtful of the amount of stevia powder suggested……50grams/1/4 cup. Surely that cannot be correct?
Has anyone tried it, or have comments? Thanks, tessab.May 24, 2014 at 1:39 pm #2044001pat
Membertalking about stevia powder – i cannot get it. Any problems with splenda powder?
May 24, 2014 at 2:35 pm #20441Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, 01Pat. Splenda is not recommended in this program because not only it is artificial, but it has been shown in studies to work against weight loss efforts.
If you cannot find Stevia, I am happy to help. Where do you live?May 24, 2014 at 4:35 pm #20444TrudyMathers
MemberI have tried to complete the menu planner but once I saved it I couldn’t find it again. Where would I find it? thanks.

MemberHi, Trudy. In the Apps area, Menu History is at the bottom left corner. Your previous menus are there.

MemberI have a question about the White Bean Soup recipe. The directions call for potato, but there’s no potato in the ingredients list. It also says to use a hand blender to make smooth, but there’s a bay leaf in the soup. Wouldn’t you take that out first? And the photo of the soup doesn’t look blended.
I’m a new member, and I find this to be confusing and disappointing. Are your recipes tested?May 28, 2014 at 12:10 am #20506Rubytwoshoes
MemberHi, Tessab44, I have made the cereal bars several times. I don’t use that much stevia, I used dried papaya sticks, but I think they are sweetened with something.Have used raisins soaked in water 1st. Just experiment, see what works for you.

MemberHi, Jim. Do you have a link to what you are referring? I have looked over our recipes, and none of the soups I found with white beans have potatoes or are blended. Our main white bean soup recipe is this: http://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/white-bean-lemon-kale-soup/. Yes, our recipes are tested, and sometimes modifications are made as they are retested.

MemberThanks for your response Rubytwoshoes,
I think my confusion/shock horror may have stemmed from the fact that many products calling themselves Stevia are blends that contain fillers and other stuff. The powder I have is 99% pure and is incredibly sweet, and as yet I have been unable to determine what percentage of this would be the equivalent to a teaspoon of the type with additives.
I will soldier on and see what useful info I can find in an effort to make my experiments less of a hit and miss affair.

MemberI made them and followed the recipe exactly .They were delicious!! I/4c of the powdered seems like a lot since the liquid drops are soooo sweet. But the powdered is not bitter and over sweet. I think if you try it you’ll be pleasantly surprised!! 😛

MemberI’ve been on the diet for a month now and doing pretty well, but when it comes to going out to eat I either over eat or like today I didn’t eat at all except for ice cream. I knew I shouldn’t have the ice cream especially with not having any lunch but I did have it anyways. I went with my girlfriends on a road trip and just didn’t stop for lunch. When I got home I did have my afternoon snack. It really discourages me that I don’t have the will power to watch what I eat when I’m off the menu or to make sure I eat something healthy.

MemberHi, Blueberry. Just be patient with yourself. If you are aware of the issue and what you could have done instead, eventually you will begin doing the right thing little by little – even if it means having half the ice cream serving you have had in the past, and remembering to bring fruit with you as a snack (or just picking some up at a convenience store) when you are on-the-go.
