Thanks so much for your advice! Loving this program it is so easy and healthy too! Having trouble eating all six meals, skipping last snack. Will this effect my weight loss?September 18, 2014 at 2:18 pm #23452Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Ardeen. Are you physically active? If so, how many days per week, and how much time per day?
According to that, I can make recommendations.September 18, 2014 at 2:22 pm #23454Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, reinvent. Great to read! If you are not diabetic, don’t worry about that last snack. If it contains fruit or a source of calcium, try to get those earlier in the day (if it is too much food, then swap out a carb).

MemberHi, Ardeen. Thanks for getting back to me. If you are limited in terms of physical activity, this could indeed affect your metabolism. I suggest a couple of things:
1. Cut back on all foods by about 1/4 (25%), or starchy carbohydrates by 1/2 (50%) – just make sure you get at least 3 servings per day of good calcium sources.
2. Try some exercises that are feasible for you – customer service can help you with some excellent options, or you can visit the Fitness forum here for ideas that have worked for Clubmembers just like you.September 19, 2014 at 10:05 am #23470Ardeen
MemberThanks Ossie-Sharon. I’ll try that

MemberHi, Sandy. Absolution. You can go back to any week you wish and start over. I’m not sure I quite understand the challenges you are having with the menus. Are you using the express menus or the Menu Planner application?

KeymasterIf you feel the Weekly Menu isn’t suiting your needs, please feel free to check out the Menu Planner application.
To access the “Menu Planner,” follow these steps:
1. Go to http://www.trimdownclub.com
2. On the top right corner of the homepage click Login
3. Enter your username and password (You can also use your email address as your username. If you lost or forgot your password,
click Login and then choose “lost password.” Follow the steps on the screen to reset your password)
4. Once you are logged in, go to “Apps,” and click on “Menu Planner”
5. To create a personal menu plan, scroll down, and click on “Start Planning Menu” (orange button at the bottom of the page)
6. On the page that appears, from the “My Food Choices” area, you’ll have to add your favorite foods to your menu plan. Switch between the main food categories by clicking on the boxes (Carbs, Proteins, Fats, Sweets, Vegetables, Fruit) above the meal planner. Please note that you will only be able to finalize your choices and click on “SAVE & CREATE MENU” when all meal bars are full and all food group boxes are solid blue.In addition, to learn how to use the Menu Planner, simply click on the following link: http://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner-tutorial/

MemberHi, I’m relatively new to the program and would like to understand the overall requirements for daily exchanges. For instance, I have noticed that breakfast seems to include a fruit, a protein, a carb, and a dairy product. I’ve also noticed that fruits are listed always early in the day, whereas later in the day teh snack includes vegetables instead. Is there a pattern that one can follow of how many of each exchange is optimal for each meal and snack?
Thank you!September 27, 2014 at 4:28 pm #23618Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Catbrad. Are you using the Menu Planner application? If so, you can click on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your finished menu, and you’ll see your pattern. If you are using the 14- or 21-day Express Meal Plan, please repost here, and I will give you that pattern.

MemberHaving trouble with the diet. It seems like A LOT of food, and a lot of it doesn’t go together. Can I swap part of a snack for part of a breakfast etc… or is the time of day relevant? If we go out to eat, or my husband brings home chinese food, is there a way to see how that fits into the meal plan? Like maybe just keeping portions smaller, or adding something, or avoiding something, etc..

MemberHi, hfairman. You can definitely move things around as you wish. Are you using the Menu Planner application to build your menu? If so, you can also click on whatever food you want to change, and a list of nutritionally equivalent options will pop up for selection and replacement. Also, there is a way to “trick” the system into giving you a little less food while still meeting your needs.
With regard to restaurant food, it is definitely a lot about portion size- try to limit each starchy carbohydrate and protein food portion to the size/thickness of your your hand; green and similar vegetables are essentially unlimited, but go easy on sauces; dish out your portions, and put the rest away so there will be no temptation to take seconds or continue nibbling. As for to what to order, avoid deep-fried items, heavy cream sauces, and refined white grains – even some Asian restaurants today offer a brown rice option (if they don’t then try to make your own, as it makes a big difference to your efforts here) – and in general see if you can order dishes that are big on vegetables. If you stick to those suggestions, you can just swap that meal into whatever lunch or dinner is in your Trim Down Club menu.October 3, 2014 at 2:24 pm #23707Ardeen
