MemberHi, Greeny. I’m glad to read you’re not hungry 🙂 You can definitely cut back. We suggest to start with the starchy items, if possible.

MemberThank you, that is really helpful. I was not sure where to start as I realise the combination is important. Will continue on! ?

MemberYou say that the website emphasises water. But I don’t see that anywhere when building the menu for the week.

MemberHi, Ellen. Water is a “free” beverage – meaning drink freely – and so does not need to be counted in your menu.

MemberI have arthritis in my hip and lower back, so losing weight should ease the pain. This condition means that there is no dancing in my program. I do walk with my dog, not very fast, but regularly.

MemberHi, Diane. That recipe looks great. If you’re interested, each muffin yields 2 carb + 1.5 fat exchanges, and would make a good snack between major meals.

MemberI am new to the club. I have a question. What are some good nibbley snacks instead of popcorn at the movie theatre?

MemberHi, I am new to the club. Wondering what could be a replacement nibbley snack for the movie theatre? One of my favorite(bad) things is the buttered popcorn! Thanks!

MemberHi, Melissa, and welcome!
First, you may find that you can get used to unflavored popcorn over time – just gradually mix more and more into your usual fare until you don’t need the old stuff. Other than popcorn, there are other types of puffed “grain” snacks, such as puffed quinoa, sorghum, and Kamut (khorasan wheat), that are seasoned with herbs instead of greasy coatings. There are also roasted dried legume type products, including chickpeas. Lighter popcorn-type choices include mini ricecakes.
Even lighter options include the hearts (insides) of celery and seasoned cucumber slices or home-baked seasoned vegetable (e.g., kale) chips. If you’re at home, you can also sip on tea or steeped water.
Keep in mind that you can always count those nibbles as your snack.
Having written the above, there is also the possibility of gradually cutting back on nibbles in front of movies. When you’re watching at home, you can even use the distraction to get in a work out (even just walking in place is great).March 31, 2016 at 2:50 am #34773MelissaK54
MemberThanks for the advice. Ultimately, getting out of having to nibble would be for the best. Changing that old mindset and bad habits!:)
