MemberHi, Horselover. Peanut butter (or other nut butters) is fine, especially if you can find one that is all natural and without hydrogenated fats and added sugar. As for the honey, it is recommended to limit amounts to only a teaspoon here and there, as it is concentrated fructose, which can work against your goals here.

MemberHi Keith, on this long weekend there might she may be busy. But I can answer a bit.
Yes you eat everything on the menu generated. It is calculated to be the right balance of foods so that you will lose weight gradually. We all have said it is too much food, but I have lost 17 lb since January, just eating all that food. If you don’t have an item, click on the link at the end of the item on the menu and find an alternate food. If that fails, try for something that seems appropriate and ask, you will get an answer.

MemberAs for drinks, Look at your menu, at the bottom there is a comment about ‘non fattening drinks’ which may help, presumably the volume can be subtracted from the water requirement.

MemberI recently started the program and follow exactly during the week but on weekends if I go out with friends I end up right back where I started. This is the point where I get frustrated and want to quit. Any suggestions.

MemberThe many comments on sweets make me think I have some encouragement to offer.
Years ago I completely stopped adding sugar to anything other than food for my humming-bird feeders and I rarely use any sweetener at all, though occasionally I’ll put a bit of stevia on something. I read labels and avoid buying any food that specifies more than 4 grams of sugar per serving and if there is a choice with less that is what I buy.
The encouragement I would offer is my own experience – after doing the above for just a couple weeks I started finding sweet foods unappealing. I really don’t even want to eat them – and I used to think I had a sweet-tooth that would never go away.

MemberHi, pecohen, and welcome. That is what we recommend. Ease into the program, and take your time with it. Gradual changes are more likely to stick long-term.

MemberHi, Sandrae. Rice flour can’t be used for puff pastry on its own, but rather needs to be combined with other flours – at least a 1:1 ratio (1 part rice flour to 1 part other flours, such as millet or quinoa).

MemberIt has been a month since I started and I have lost 9 pounds! I can’t express how happy I am with this. I am very active in all forms of exercise and was so frustrated with the scale not budging. After starting this program I thought I would never be able to eat all the food that is on the generated menu. On the weekends it is tough because we are always out, but now my brain thinks differently and I try and keep on track. I can’t always eat that last snack of the day because there are not enough hours in my day to do this, but I do what I can and keep pushing!

MemberHi my name is Debra and I’ve only just signed up to TDC. I’m busy reading all the material and looking at healthier food choices so am going to start slowly and try and get used to not having all that sugar and junk in my diet. I live in Australia – some of the recipes look a bit daunting – some of the foods I have never heard of. For example, what is Stevia?? A bit of research needed I think. Anyway, fingers crossed I can do this.
