MemberI am just starting my first week, I am planning my first week and while signing up I was hit with a bunch of offers to buy additional items to improve my weight loss efficiency. I Just watched the fish oil Omega 3 with Vesisorb and I’m deeply concerned that my research about this program about not having to eat all organic and being affordable is now about products I need to buy, buying entirely organic to lose the weight that I have struggled with. I have 4 children with me and my husband we both work full time and live pay check to pay pay check there is no way we can afford to buy all these different suggested products and buy all organic.
So my question is…Has anyone lost their goal weight without buying all the extra and not having to buy all organic? I understand and agree with buying natural like sugar and not the fake sugar, real butter, multie grain breads, and the cooking oils those make sense. But my family love all kinds of meat and eating organic meat isn’t really an option for my family. I need to know before my 60 days is up, I’m all for giving this 110% I have health issues and the testimonials of people with health issues while not like mine but similar that have had success is what drew me to this program in the first place. Can anyone answer my question?

MemberHi, hsnyder, and welcome! Don’t worry about the products or the expensive foods – they are just suggestions. Many people enjoy those things (and have requested the products), but they absolutely are not a must-have for success here!
If you follow the general pattern (including food group combinations), timing, and portion sizes of the meals, and focus on foods that are as unrefined and unprocessed as possible, you’ll do great.
If you are interested in success stories, there are some links in the Nutrition and Diet forum where people describe their experiences, and yes, some people have reached their goal weights and maintained them, including just by doing what I described.November 18, 2014 at 7:52 am #24711LyndaRussell
MemberHi Ossie-Sharon and everyone,
I have just joined a few days ago and if anyone can tell me the breakdown for the portions that would be great. I’m still learning to navigate this system! I grow my own organic veggies and we have a freezer full of grass fed beef so that is what we will mostly be eating if I can get my head around how to put a plate together. Also I have an absolute favourite breakfast that I eat everyday. It is delicious and it is essential for keeping me regular. I have 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup full cream milk, 2 tablespoons low fat yoghurt with probiotics, 1/2 a banana or other fruit and 2 tablespoons of homemade granola made with quinoa toasted in coconut oil & maple syrup and then it has almonds, walnuts, pepitas, sunflower seeds, coconut and flaxseeds. Can anyone tell me if this is ok or does it need to be tweaked a bit. Thanks in advance.November 19, 2014 at 4:53 pm #24745Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, LyndaRussell. That’s great! The first thing to do is to click on the “Exchange view” link in the toolbar above your finished menu in the Menu Planner application. Next, compare that meal/day framework to these exchanges: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists. You will note the following general composition rules:
1. Try to slip in a protein with the carbohydrates you eat.
2. Eat at least 5 total fruit+vegetable servings each day.
3. Eat/drink at least 3 total calcium-rich foods/beverages each day. - AuthorPosts
