MemberI made my breakfast lunch and snakes for the day and my Wife sent me a text with the total carbs. I am a type 2 diabetic, the number of carbs in these mewl plans is through the roof. Is the a diabetic version of the meal plans? One small white potato has ny carbs for the day in it.

MemberHi, dyesjamp. You’ve come to the right place! This program was designed according to principles of diabetes prevention and management. Fortunately, none of your meals actual exceeds 45 gram of carbohydrates, and your total for the day puts you at about 35% of energy from carbohydrates, which is quite low (regular diets provide up to twice that)
. For clarification, you can click on the “Exchange mode” icon in the toolbar above your menu, and compare the exchanges per meal to the following approximate nutritional translation:
1 carb exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat
You can create an ideal menu for your needs by accessing the fully personal version of the Menu Planner, wherein you can select the foods to go into each meal and snack, guided by a color-coding system (the healthiest foods are listed in the lighter blue shades). You can access it by clicking on the “My Food Choices” icon in that same toolbar. - AuthorPosts
