sue.ctsMemberHi, today is my first day and I am really struggling to eat this much food, can I just have tree meals per day?

jcoauetteMemberMy husband and I are doing this together. We find it difficult to get in all this foot as well. The snacks just don’t fit in with our work schedules. I’ve been experimenting with making my meals just a slight bit bigger, working what snacks I can, then use the evening snack if I feel hungry. I haven’t weighed myself yet this week so I really couldn’t say what my results have been. So far no change to the way my clothes fit. In all fairness, it’s only day 3.

SupportKeymasterWelcome!
If you feel like there’s too much food in your personal menu plan, it’s because most weight loss diets actually give you less than your body needs, which results in hunger and later rebound weight gain after the initial weight loss. This program is a way of life based on healthy eating, so it looks very different. Ease into it if you need to, but try not to cut back too much on quantity, or again, any weight loss will be followed by a rebound.

sue.ctsMemberHi Moony50,
I have spread my eating to later in the evening, which has really helped. I also have not been craving sweet food as I am so full. Good luckFebruary 14, 2016 at 3:13 pm #34059
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, moony50. What is your general level of physical activity?

MaryWyseMemberI had gastric bypass in 2003. I have gained back 52 lbs and have managed to loose 18 lbs. I need help making healthier choices. Weight gain from bad choices not high volume of food. Hopefully it won’t be a problem if I reduce to volume of food for each meal. Any ideas or suggestions?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Mary. You have come to the right place. This program is arranged to provide you with what is recommended for you to see. The best recommendations I can give you would be to be patient with yourself, and let yourself ease into the program and get used to changes instead of stressing out. When you get to the Personal Menu Planner, try to make choices that are in the lighter blues – they are the healthiest options – and try to be physically active (again, work your way up).

Grandma3boysMemberAre Protein shakes and protein bars acceptable for a snack or meal?
February 21, 2016 at 12:04 am #34145
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Grandma3boys. We would rather you used whole foods for your snacks, but if you find bars and shakes that are whole foods-based, they are fine if you’re in a time crunch.

vivalaphotoMemberI am shocked at how much food I am to eat. I am assuming I am to eat everything on my personal menu for the day, light blue and dark. I am so small boned and hope it will result in weight loss. I am eating most of it and do not feel stuffed. So, I am assuming all is well. Your question is a good one and I hope someone can assure us.
