Tanya
MemberSo this marks 3 weeks with the club, and Ive only lost 7 lbs..and 3 inches on my hips and waist. I know I should be glad Im not gaining, but I have been very good with the diet. Pounds were just suppose to melt away..I kinda think that if I was doing tbe diet only, I wouldnt have lost any weight. I go on the tredmill every day for half an hour and sweat like crazy, then I use my weight bar, the I started an ab challenge, on have also added this 8 minute ab workout..I was hoping to order a classy black dress in a size medium, but looks like that wont be happening..yeh……….

MemberHi Tanya: I’m also very skeptical. I have been on the meal plan for three days and have gained a pound a day. I walk for an hour each day and then exercise for another half hour. I have now cut out the fruit to see if things change.

MemberHi, Tanya. The results of this program are intended to be slow, so that they can be long-lasting. Two pounds per week is excellent. Exercise is intended to be part of the program because it is all about optimizing your metabolism, especially if you have been on restrictive weight loss diets before and need to get your metabolism back up. It takes a little time, but it is worth it in the end because one cannot live on a restricted diet forever, and eating normally should not mean having to accept an unhealthy weight.

MemberHi, PattyGirl. As I mentioned before, it is easier to lose weight the more you are overweight, and from what you mentioned in another post, you have only 10 lbs you want to lose. This can be made more challenging if you have dieted before using restrictive diets, which can slow down your metabolism.
If you can post your age, height, weight, and a sample day from your weekly menu, I can run some calculations and make suggestions.
Also, if you are used to working out, you might benefit from a new type of exercise to work new muscles, which can give your metabolism a major boost.June 11, 2013 at 4:52 pm #12442Tanya

MemberMy naturopath doctor told me that it’s hard on your liver to lose weight too fast. She told me to try to keep it to 2 pounds a month so that’s what I have been doing.

MemberHi, ahschmook. That is so true! It can also ultimately result in rebound weight gain, which is also hard on your liver – a real double-whammy. The goal of this program is to avoid all of that.

MemberTanya,
Rapit weightloss is never good. Only if you are very overweight you will loose a lot in the first months. The closer you get to goal, the slower it gets.
Six years ago I did WW and it took me 1.5 year!!!!!! to loose just over a stone. It wasn’t the method, it was my body. Some people loose weight by the bucket, and some just struggle and it takes longer. That can be very disappointed, but you will have to live with it.I piled it all up, because I didn’t stick to it in the end, and my biggest mistake is NOT eating. I’m don’t drink, eat fast food, am a veggie-vegan, so nothing of the unhealthy stuff.
eating not enough too makes you gain weight because your body goes in surviving mood.Oh, and you can do tooo much exercise. Maybe your body is making Cortisol and then you store fat when you do running, cross trainer etc, all the hard cardio stuff. I’m one of those people, so now I do Pilates and lost without any diet 1 pound in three weeks. Maybe you should do muscle training instead of cardio.
Cardio is said to have a short burning span after you’ve stopped exercising against muscle training. My goal is to lose 4kg by 24th October.
Just keep going. I will start next week with TrimDown.June 17, 2013 at 2:46 pm #12565stgeofun
MemberTanya,
It sounds like you and I have the same kind of metabolism. I have been on TDC now since January 28, 2013, and have only lost 14 pounds. But I have to admit, the last two weeks I have splurged quite a bit while on vacation and when my family came to visit for a week. However, I do try to just have one big meal a day when I am splurging, and the rest of the time, I try to eat what I am suppose to. I did gain a pound while on vacation, but the next day I had dropped two, so I was ahead of the game. Then the kids came and I went up on the scales 3 pounds. But I guess my body finally revolted and I didn’t feel well yesterday, and could not eat my evening meal. This morning I have taken the 3 pounds back off and I’m down another pound. So I’m glad to report that I have now lost a total of 14 pounds. But as you can see, it comes off very slowly for me.
I exercise a lot too. I lift weights 3 times a day and then do the treadmill and elliptical for an hour the other 3 days and take Sunday off! I actually had to step up my exercise from just walking 2 miles to the treadmill and elliptical. It help to boost my weight loss, but nothing drastic. It still is very slow. I think the best thing about this program is the health benefit, I’m satisfied and not hungry and feel good. The downside for me is all the food preparation, but then I am one to try a lot of recipes and have liked almost all of the ones I have tried. So good luck to you and just hang in there. I figure at the end of the year I will look better than I did at the beginning. And by the way, I purchased a pair of slacks the other day, two sizes smaller! I also tried on a large skirt and had to buy the small instead. That is the reward…not the pounds, but the drop in inches! So good luck to you and to everyone on this program.June 17, 2013 at 5:24 pm #12579stgeofun
MemberI guess my last comment should have been addressed to mjffey instead of Tanya, or maybe it’s appropriate for both of you. At any rate, if you are like me, you read everyone’s comments anyway. But my main purpose in writing my last entry was to explain that I have a very resistant metabolism but at the same time I believe in this program. So that said…maybe that clarifies my last entry! lol
