MemberI sined up for the program 2 weeks ago and have not started using it due to difficulties with the Menu Planner. I really am not a picky eater however I obviously was not picking enough of the recipes for my Menu to work. I did not pick the recipes because most call for raw milk which I do no have access to or feel comfortable using. I also found too many ingredients that I’m not familiar with. Any suggestions of how to get started on the program? Or did I just waste my money on something that is not for me?

MemberMy suggestion is to make the plan as easy for you as possible. Substiute with items you have or are able to get. Just use regular milk. I just signed up and finished my weekly menu and found that I would be cooking a lot if I tried to stick to it exactly, so I tried to use the same recipes or meal plans for several days. That way I will be able to use the left overs. It does look like we will be eating more that usual but I am willing to give it a try. Good luck and don’t give up.

MemberSomeone suggested earlier to go back and reselect what you like but don’t pick everything or your menus will be overwhelming. I did this and have made up several menus and go back and forth to see what I have and want to make that will last me a couple of days. Seriously I have made 11 menus since I started on Friday but now am getting the hang of it. My husband loved the classic tuna casserole for last nights meal and lunch today. Tonight we are having the Beef and potato stew. I am cooking rutabaga (instead of the recommended steamed vegetable, a bit redundant) to mash and add to my mashed potatoes which are on my menu. I will heat up some great northern beans which is an alternative to the ready made soup suggested on the menu and add my 1/2 c to my stew. Wow, that makes the meal
much simpler than last night. Tomorrow night we will eat the leftovers of everything. Still learning shortcuts but I hope this helps.January 14, 2013 at 12:02 am #6053Doryssb
MemberHi Babycat61,
I’m glad I glanced through this tread…hadn’t yet seen the recipe for the beef and potato stew. I think I might make a pot of this and subsitute it for the canned chunky soup (meat) that has shown up on my menu plans a few times. Can you tell me about how many servings it made? I think I will split it into some single servings and freeze.
Be encouraged!
