MemberVegetarianism at any level often represent a positive step toward good health. This thread is for members who are already vegetarian or vegan, or for those who are thinking about making the move. It is meant to provide information and tips that are both general in nature, and which refer to use of the TrimDownClub program in particular.

MemberI don’t know if I can really do a vegetarian diet. I always think I am going to keep being hungry after I eat. I was thinking about doing one meal a couple times a week just to get use to not eating meat all the time. Do you think that would help?

MemberAbsolutely! Just like cutting back in general to lose weight, you’re more likely to succeed at a significant change like vegetarianism if you ease into it. And of course if you find a regimen that you like as much as eating meat. This program offers some great vegetarian recipes.

MemberChrista, I can’t see the original post but I saw your comment. My family of 4 were huge meat eaters, steak and potatoes every night kind of people. I was diagnosed as diabetic last year and had not taken it serious until recently and decided my whole family needed a health change. We have been off of meat for 8 weeks now, we do not miss it at all Im fact my husky football playing 17 year old son had not even realized we had cut out ALL meat until he heard me talking about it in week 3. His comment was, “what? We haven’t had meat for 3 weeks???!!! Haha! I use a lot f vegetables in my normal recipes and no one misses it, I am amazed and shocked! It takes more creativity and a little preplanning to make sure we have fresh veggies but we went cold turkey and its been great. Husband and son have lost 15+ pounds without dieting.

MemberOh yes, and about worrying if you will be hungry without meat… We eat way less portions at every meal and are full and more than satisfied. I would have never believed this before we did it!
