MemberFirst week I lost three, Second week nothing, third week nothing, fourth week changed my weight on the profile to get different menues and lost three more. Now it is week five and I have gained two back. This is bad. I’m a very determined person, but four pounds in five weeks is so frustrating. My menues are 84 – 86%. Why won’t it work for me?

MemberIt has just occurred to me that I can use a hula hoop to exercise with. With severe osteoperosis from prednisone and chemo for treatment of my Lupus, I have been advised to swim for exercise or use a stationary bike which I don’t have. I haven’t been doing anything so far. I’m hopeful that the hula hoop might be the answer. I googled hula hooping for exercise and found that they make a weighted hula hoop specifically for exercising for adults.

MemberHi, nhhicks61. That’s a great idea. Prednisone can indeed make weight management seem nearly impossible, but whatever you an do to counteract it is excellent. Dietary measures that may be helpful here include omega-3s (salmon, kale, chia seeds, flaxseeds) and of course, good sources of calcium and vitamin D, including dairy (try to find the type with omega-3, if possible) and fortified “substitute” products.
