I see there are certain times we can have milk and juice. However what can we drink on a regular bases? I drink a lot of water however I do enjoy tea and coffee. Am I able to have either of these?

Hi, Jennifer. Tea and coffee are great. They are “free,” and so not included in the Menu Planner.

    What other drinks are free?

    #28058

Other free beverages: steeped water and soda water, clear beverages sweetened with Stevia.

    can you drink chrystal light?

    #28427

Hi, ewyoung. We don’t generally recommend Crystal Light, as it contains artificial sweeteners. You can make your own version by mixing fresh-squeezed lemon juice with a better sweetener (see our recommendations here http://www.trimdownclub.com/the-best-way-to-sweeten-your-tea-2) and regular or carbonated water.

I just started today can I eat caned string beans

Hi, Joyce, and welcome! Assuming you don’t have any conditions that require fluid restrictions or extra fluids, and considering conditions of normal temperature and activity, you need about 2 quarts/liters per day, or about 9 8-oz/226-ml glasses per day. If you work up a sweat, you’ll need one or two more glasses.

Hi, mtmaddox, and welcome. Yes, you can eat canned vegetables, though we do suggest products with minimal (if any) salt added.

Is Arizona tea alright to drink?

    #28739

Hi, LadySings. The regular tea is fine, though be sure to count each 15 grams of carbohydrates as a carb exchange, or each 30 grams as a sweet exchange. We would not recommend the diet version, as it incorporates artificial sweeteners that could work against your efforts.

I would think green tea varieties would be best but most teas are harmless to an extent…true?

    #28818

Hi, allhughes. For the most part you are right, though there are a few that have been linked to problems – but these are “medicinal” types or those that boast an energizing effect. If you can, try to go for organic types, and if you use bagged tea, use only the paper type and rinse them in cool water before use to get rid of the chemical coating.

How about IMO? You use such a tiny bit of it and it is great for sweetening tea. A couple little squirts is all it takes.
