MemberI drink a lot of water daily (just started this about 4 months ago) instead of soda….however I have to say I use the drops because I like it flavored. I saw some stuff on sweet and low, are the water drops considered the same? If the drink drops arent ok how else can I flavor my water with out the mess of infussion? I am new today!

MemberIs Robinsons squash ok to drink in each of the 8 glasses of water please?
January 3, 2017 at 1:01 am #37269Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Chrissie. We wouldn’t recommend those because they use artificial sweeteners, which can work against your efforts here. You’ll get a lot more benefit out of steeping cut fruit in water like tea and adding a better sweetener like Stevia or erythritol (or even xylitol).

MemberHi all…may I just ask what stevia is?..as I have never come across it before.
thank you.January 19, 2017 at 7:45 pm #37498Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Happy2017. Stevia is an herb with a high degree of natural sweetness that is used as a no-carb sweetener. You can read more about it here: http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/natures-garden-stevia-60017682.

MemberHi, Johayes77. We don’t recommend Slim Line because it contains artificial sweeteners that can work against your efforts here. I suggest to seek a sugar-free tonic water with a high-quality sweetener such as Stevia (for example: http://zevia-white.hark.bz/flavors/tonic-water).

MemberAre diet colas ok to drink?
March 11, 2017 at 8:07 pm #38046Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Tasmithwfwf. We don’t recommend readymade diet beverages because they use artificial sweeteners, which can work against your efforts here. You would be better off making your own with plain carbonated water, squeezes of fresh lemon or lime or a couple of drops of natural flavor extract (“cola” does exist!) and a high-quality natural low-carb sweetener such as Stevia and/or erythritol.

MemberIs it okay to have a glass of wine?
April 3, 2017 at 10:49 pm #38238Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, CGS64. Absolutely! The trick is to not overdo – 4-5 fluid ounces (130 ml) of dry wine is considered to be a portion size – and to fit it into your menu. It is considered 1 carb + 1 fat exchange, and you can see the exchanges you are allotted by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your menu in the Menu Planner application.
