I’m confused. I just joined and watched the intro video with the 5 foods to not eat. Wheat bread and corn were on the list, and now I see them on the menu. ?????

Hi, Sue, and welcome! The 5 foods are examples of those that are overprocessed versions of those that should be healthy, but have been manipulated into being particularly harmful to your goals here, whereas we encourage the better versions in their original, natural forms. Note that the foods discussed in the video are only examples, and many other popular foods have been similarly affected, so it is important to read labels and generally be aware of how a food is made, and endeavor to eat whole foods as much as possible.

I also have a problem with getting access to whole grain breads without a lot of wheat flour, added soy, and added corn syrups or dextrose. My grocer tells me he will begin ordering whole grains, sliced bread, English muffins, hamburger, and rye if I can tell him which brands carry these type baked goods. Try to understand this is a local grocery in a remote area of the south. Can you help with this information? I do not eat wheat, soy or anything with corn syrup and it’s derivatives. I am trying for a new healthy way of eating that isn’t geared to extremes since I am most definitely not a vegetarian.

Hi, ona-72. Examples of good brands include Food for Life Ezekiel (http://www.foodforlife.com), Natural Ovens (they make an Organic 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread), and Rudi’s Organic (100% Whole Wheat Bread). Please let me know if you need more brands or different information altogether.
