HChatterMemberWhy does this program seem to work for everyone except me? When I started this, someone asked me how I expected to lose weight by eating more than I ever have in my life. I told them about the continuous energy theory etc. I have been buying all this really expensive strange food I have never heard of because it is on the menu. I measure everything with a scale to ensure I have the correct portion size. I force myself to eat the food when I’m not even hungry (even though I think eating things like raw filberts is disgusting) and I have not lost any weight. Actually, I have GAINED weight. Why is this happening? Has anyone else experienced this?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, HChatter. This may happen at the beginning to people who have been on deprivation diets in the past and are either not physically active, or have been engaging in the same aerobic exercise for a while. The first thing I would recommend is to take advantage or your hunger cues. If it feels that overall there is too much food for you, try cutting back a little – though do try to get at least 5 total servings of fruits+vegetables and three servings of calcium-rich food each day. Be careful not to cut too much during the earlier meals of the day (protein is particularly important in the morning), and be aware of any major hunger bouts in the evening.
