I just need to know on the food and menu I got will I loose weight?
What does 82% healthy menu mean

Hi, Fackerman. The intention of this program is to support you in losing weight if that is your goal. 82% means that the health value of your menu is good, but there may be room for improvement in the future. The intention is for you to get used to the portion sizes and food group arrangement with relatively common, well-known foods, and then improve your selection so that the health value of yoyur menus get closer to 100% – the closer to 100%, the more supportive of weight loss the menu is likely to be.
If you are ready to upgrade, click on the “My Food Choices” icon (an apple) in the toolbar above your menu, and select healthy foods you like from the food lists there, guided by the color-coding system wherein the items most supportive of weight loss are in the lighter blue shades and have the highest health values.

Hi, leighquiles. Everyone loses at their own pace, but the average is about 6 lbs of weight loss per month with a very healthy menu as you have, and a lot of this can be fat if you also exercise. There really is a wide range of responses, depending on past diet history, physical activity, amount of weigh to lose, and of course, genetics. If you would like guidance with exercise, please do repost here, and I will get back to you.

I have been on this menu plan (87%) for over 5 weeks. I have been following it very closely but so far I initially gained 2 pounds and now I am just maintaining. If I don’t start seeing something happening, I will need to try a different plan. My activity level is moderate. I do about 3 hours of exercise classes (dance and tai chi) per week plus lots of flexibility and strength exercises. Any suggestions?

Hi, Amy. If that level of physical activity relatively new, you may be at a stage in which you are swapping fat for muscle, which is heavier. If this is the case, you may notice that you are looking and feeling better and that your clothes fit differently, even if the number on the scale has not yet started to move.
If none of the above seems to reflect your situation, there are a couple of options.
    1. Take care to switch the muscle groups you use in exercise every 3 weeks, to prevent a slow-down in how well the activities burn fat.
    2. If it suits your tastes and won’t leave you feeling hungry, consider cutting back on some of your starchy carbohydrate foods, or swapping them for non-starchy vegetables or lean proteins. For example, at your Monday lunch, try increasing your fish serving to 6 ounces and leave out the sweet potato, and at dinner, have 1.5 cups of soup instead of the extra potato.
If none of the above speaks to you, please do repost, and I will continue to troubleshoot with you.
