MemberHello,
I’m Katie and just joined yesterday…YAY! I have been eating banana-strawberry flavored yogurt with fresh strawberries mixed in and then I take a crunchy granola bar and break it up in there and that’s my breakfast. My husband thinks I’m making a mistake because he think this breakfast has way too much sugar. HELP! Am I sabotaging my attempts at eating better with too much sugar in the morning???April 11, 2013 at 3:36 pm #10873Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Katies710, and welcome! I can assure you that this program is low in carbs, sugars, and glycemic index.
Regarding the yogurt, we do suggest that you make your own flavored yogurts, because you then have the freedom to make it as nutritionally perfect as possible – high-protein (i.e. with lowfat Greek yogurt), and extra low-carb (puree the banana and strawberries in with a natural sweetener such as monk fruit, Stevia, or xylitol).
Granola bars can indeed be tricky carbwise, so be sure to choose one with that is whole grain, with no added sugar, preferably organic, to avoid genetically engineered ingredients (i.e. http://www.annies.com/products/Organic-Granola-Bars, http://shop.naturespath.com/Lotta-Apricotta-Granola-Bars/p/NPA-891031&c=NaturesPath@Bars). - AuthorPosts
