All-Grain Breakfast with Apples

Prepare the cereal ahead of time, preferably a few hours prior or overnight. First, melt the butter or heat the oil in saucepan and add in the four grains. Stir well to have a balanced mixture and coat them evenly. Continue cooking until the grains have really toasted. Remove from heat and add the water. Set aside for a few hours.
Then, heat the cereal over medium-high heat and bring it to a simmer. Continue simmering until it is cooked. The longer you simmer, the thicker its consistency will become. Remove from heat when desired consistency is achieved.
Put in a bowl and pour in the milk and apples!
