Ingredients
- Broccoli, 1 cup chopped (91 g)
- Cheddar Cheese, 7 slice (1 oz) (196 g)
- Butter 3 teaspoon (12 g)
- Celery, chopped, 1/4 cup (24 g)
- Onion, chopped, 1/4 cup (39 g)
- Chicken Stock, 1 1/2 cups (365 g)
- Heavy Cream, 0.7 cup (163 g)
- Sea salt, 1 dash (0 g)
- Black Pepper, 1 dash (0 g)
- Bacon, cooked, chopped, as toppings, 1 slice (26 g)
Instructions
- Over medium heat, melt the butter in a saucepan.
- Saute onion and celery until softened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add broccoli and cook for additional 2-3 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
- Add chicken broth and heavy whipping cream and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat to simmer and slowly add the cheese mixing continously.
- Serve with chopped bacon as topping.

I think the oz’s are off with this one 196g does not equal 1 oz unless I am reading that wrong?

This is sooo satisfying! We the cheese and soup I don’t think it needs any extra salt though!
I meant with the cheese and broth it doesn’t need extra salt…
Can I just leave out the celery and onions or do I have to replace it with something else?
Hi, Angdiddy. Since they serve as vegetables, we recommend doubling the broccoli if you leave them out. You may also wish to add herbs, as they are also flavoring agents.

Hi, Obermeyer. Other than dividing the total amount into three portions, you can count the volume of the ingredients. Each serving of this recipe is about 1 cup (240 ml).
why the carb so high in the food if I only need 20 or under
Hi, threatt. Those are the total carbs – the available carb amount is lower. The amount here is higher than in other dishes because it is a vegetable course. Vegetables are critical components of a meal plan, but they do tend to have more carbs.
